Bharat Lall directs the California-based Pinnacle Hotels USA in investing in underperforming hotels in three states. Beyond his responsibilities as president and CEO of Pinnacle Hotels USA, Bharat Lall supports Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). The nonprofit organization will host the 2017 AVID National Conference in December.

The AVID National Conference brings together educational leaders from across the country to discover the latest innovations and best practices for closing the opportunity gap among students. Discussions will focus on expanding access to rigorous curriculums and promoting career readiness for all students. Designed for AVID members, school faculty, and district personnel, the conference also offers a variety of networking events where educational thought leaders can share their experiences.

Programming will consist of an assortment of concurrent sessions targeting the areas of leadership, culture, systems, and institutions. Topics explored range from digital and technological innovations to schoolwide strategies that support students and increase rigor. In addition, the conference will cover the success of AVID systems such as advanced programs and the AVID College Readiness System (ACRS).

To increase affordability, AVID has introduced a number of special incentives to the 2017 National Conference. Incentives include 50 percent off registration for demo school participants and $100 off registration for teams of three or more from the same school. District superintendents and college and university presidents will receive free registration.

The 2017 AVID National Conference will take place on December 7 through December 9 at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida.

As president and CEO of Pinnacle Hotels USA, Bharat Lall oversees nine popular hotels in California and Texas. Bharat Lall’s hotels feature the latest and most sought-after amenities, including state-of-the-art fitness centers and heated outdoor pools.

Less persuaded by mini bars and in-room bathrobes, today’s travelers are increasingly interested in more modern services. Across the board, the amenity that is most popular with hotel guests today is free wireless Internet. Guests want to be connected constantly, and they expect to be able to get online easily and for free. For many, lack of this amenity is a deal breaker.

Guests are also demanding spa-quality toiletries. Luxury hotels already offer top-tier bath and beauty products, and many boutique-style hotels offer interesting local products. Even at three-star hotels, consumers are increasingly looking for appealing toiletries that don’t dry out their skin or hair.

Like the demand for toiletries, the demand for fitness centers has spread across all sectors of the hospitality industry. Guests are no longer satisfied with an aging treadmill and elliptical machine in a small room. Instead, they want high-quality fitness facilities with a range of cardio and weight equipment. These amenities go hand in hand with hot tubs, saunas, and upscale spa services, which are also in high demand these days.
