Bharat Lall, MD, was working as a medical doctor with a dream of getting into real estate for several years before he bought his first motel with just 12 rooms in 1989. Since then, Dr. Bharat Lall left his medical practice and founded Pinnacle Hotels USA in 1998, where he currently serves as CEO.

Pinnacle has bought and sold many hotel properties since then, specializing in transforming under-performing hotels through upgrades and renovations. From the first 12-room motel, the company grew to work with several larger limited service locations with brands like La Quinta Inn and Comfort Inn.

In 2011, the company bought a Holiday Inn property in San Diego and transformed it with a $3.5 million renovation into the popular Four Points by Sheraton San Diego Downtown. The unique cylindrical building was built in 1970 and is now a full-service hotel with an updated fitness center and a restaurant and bar called C3.

The Four Points by Sheraton San Diego Downtown, along with Pinnacle’s other full-service property, the Radisson Hotel San Diego Rancho Bernardo, represent Pinnacle’s recent expansion into the full-service hotel industry. The company currently owns and manages eight hotel locations in San Diego, Austin, and Riverside from its headquarters in San Diego.
